The 22nd Asian Television Awards concludes two evenings of glitz and glamour, celebrating Asian television’s best. Hosted by Baki Zainal, Stephanie Carrington and Wang Li Huan, a total of 47 awards were presented, recognising excellence in programming, production and performance. Twenty-nine awards were given out during the trade gala event on 30 November 2017, and another 18 awards presented during the LIVE ceremony on 1 December 2017 to over 3,500 spectators at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Spectators at the event were treated to spectacular performances by award-winning Indonesian pop-singer and actor, Afgansyah; Taiwanese singer-songwriter and actor, Bii; Korean singer-actor best known as the host of popular variety show – ‘Running Man’, Kim Jong-Kook; renowned international electronic artist, GG Magree; Sing! China finalist, Joanna Dong from Singapore; and Vietnam’s latest pop sensation, The Air, performed for the first time in Singapore, and special performance by the cast of Glee Vietnam.

Some highlights of the event include Golden Tambourine by CJ E&M, Korea winning ‘Best Music Programme’, with MTV Music Evolution Manila 2016 by Viacom International Media Networks, Singapore obtaining the Highly Commended award. Hermant Doedhar in Khulta Kali Khulena, produced by Atharya Theatre & Events, India won ‘Best Theme Song’, with Highly Commended presented to Yu Zhisheng, Fang Yan, Luan Hui, in Kung Food Theme Song by Shen Zhen Sound of Waves Co Ltd, China.
